IR Windows & Mirrors
Custom Infrared Windows and Mirrors on Silicon and Germanium Substrates
Cimcoop manufactures custom infrared windows and mirrors on silicon and germanium substrates for defense systems, thermal cameras, laser assemblies, and industrial sensing equipment. Products include flat windows, wedged windows, and precision mirror surfaces produced by CNC grinding, polishing, and diamond turning. AR and HR coatings are applied in-house. Every component ships with full metrology data from Zygo interferometry and Taylor Hobson profiling, plus certificates of conformity. ISO 9001:2015 certified. ITAR registered.
Flat, wedged, and mirror surfaces on Si and Ge. Ground, polished, and diamond-turned.
Windows that transmit. Mirrors that reflect. Both built on Si and Ge substrates via CNC grinding, polishing, and diamond turning. Tight tolerances, full metrology data, certs included.
These components go into defense systems, thermal cameras, laser assemblies, and industrial sensing equipment. Every piece is built to your print.

FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between flat and wedged IR windows?
Flat IR windows have parallel surfaces and are used where beam deviation is acceptable. Wedged IR windows have a slight angle between surfaces to prevent etalon interference effects in coherent-source systems and to deflect ghost reflections away from the detector.
What materials does Cimcoop use for IR windows and mirrors?
Cimcoop manufactures IR windows and mirrors primarily on silicon and germanium substrates, both grown in-house. These materials provide excellent transmission in the MWIR (3–5 μm) and LWIR (8–12 μm) atmospheric windows.
Does Cimcoop apply coatings to IR windows and mirrors?
Yes. Cimcoop applies anti-reflection (AR) coatings for windows and high-reflection (HR) coatings for mirrors in-house, plus custom coating designs per customer specification.
