Thermal Imaging Optics: Custom MWIR and LWIR Lenses, Windows, and Substrates

Cimcoop manufactures precision MWIR (3–5 μm) and LWIR (8–12 μm) optics for thermal cameras and sensor systems. Products include diamond-turned aspherical IR lenses, protective windows, and in-house grown silicon and germanium substrates. Applications span perimeter security, border surveillance, industrial monitoring, predictive maintenance, and firefighting. Cimcoop builds optics for both uncooled microbolometer and cooled InSb/MCT detector architectures.

Thermal Imaging

We build precision MWIR (3--5 micron) and LWIR (8--12 micron) optics for the thermal imaging industry. Our IR lenses, windows, and mirrors go into thermal cameras and sensors for perimeter security, border surveillance, industrial monitoring, predictive maintenance, and firefighting.

Diamond-turned aspherical IR lenses on Moore Nanotech SPDT systems. Complex surface geometries for compact, high-performance thermal optics. We build for both uncooled microbolometer cores and cooled InSb/MCT detectors -- handheld devices to vehicle-mounted systems.

Germanium and Silicon are our primary substrates, and we grow both crystals in-house. Full material control from ingot to finished optic. We also work with ZnSe, ZnS, and Chalcogenide glass for applications requiring specific transmission profiles or athermal performance.

Why It Works.

The performance attributes that matter.

MWIR & LWIR Bands

Optimized for 3--5 micron (MWIR) and 8--12 micron (LWIR) atmospheric windows used by thermal imaging detectors.

Diamond-Turned Aspheres

Complex aspherical and diffractive surfaces on SPDT systems. Compact, lightweight thermal lens assemblies.

In-House Crystal Growing

Ge and Si crystals grown on-site. Full material control and traceability from raw ingot to polished optic.

Cooled & Uncooled Compatibility

Lenses for both uncooled microbolometer and cooled InSb/MCT focal plane arrays. Every thermal camera architecture covered.

Frequently Asked Questions

What thermal imaging optics does Cimcoop manufacture?

Cimcoop manufactures aspherical and spherical IR lenses, protective windows, mirrors, and crystal-grown Si and Ge substrates for MWIR (3–5 μm) and LWIR (8–12 μm) thermal cameras.

Does Cimcoop make lenses for both cooled and uncooled thermal cameras?

Yes. Cimcoop produces optics for both uncooled microbolometer cores (typically LWIR) and cooled InSb/MCT focal plane arrays (typically MWIR), covering handheld to vehicle-mounted thermal systems.

What materials does Cimcoop use for thermal imaging lenses?

Primary substrates are germanium and silicon (both grown in-house). Cimcoop also works with ZnSe, ZnS, and chalcogenide glass for specific transmission profiles or athermal performance requirements.
